PiBoIdMo 2010 – Idea #20

It’s late and I haven’t put together my Sunday school lesson yet, but need to stay on track here too.

Idea #20

The Greatest Book Ever

Here’s a crazy idea I just came up with after reading about Reading is Fundamental on Tara’s blog.

This book is set in a library. The books are arguing over which book is the greatest book ever. Each book on the shelf takes a turn explaining why it is the greatest book ever. At the end, they realize that any book that is picked up and read is a great book.

Sounds a little odd, but I can see it in my mind: books with faces and different personalities sharing why they are great. This would be a fun one to develop.

  1. I can actually see this one being published. I say go for it Afterall isn’t that the purpose of the month to come up with ideas that you could possibly see as future books for you to work on? I say go for it when the month is over or maybe when the first of the year comes around since the holidays will consume most of us and take us away from the writing during December – I wonder which books you would use throughout the story – lol. That would be the hardest part is deciding which books to showcase as th “greatest” book ever. Go for it and let me know if this one ever comes to fruition. – E 🙂

  2. It would be neat to figure out those books. I’m thinking one that is about swashbuckling pirate adventures would say he’s the best, but another book about a princess tea party would claim she’s the one. Then there’s this old, grumpy book who doesn’t say much because he’s dusty and hasn’t been checked out of the library in a while. Maybe the other books are teasing him and he’s the one who ends up getting chosen in the end.

Glad to see someone else thinks it’s a neat idea.

    Thanks for stopping by.
