In Grandma’s Tales 1: Wild Creatures in My Neighborhood and What if I Went to the Circus? readers are treated to two zany stories about animals. The first is the story of a child who is amazed by a variety of wild creatures found in the area around his house because he lives in a city. The second finds Jackson bored without anyone to play, so he thinks about what it might be like if he brought some of the circus animals home to play with him.
I have enjoyed Carpinello’s work for years, and these books are no exception. As a retired teacher, she speaks to the heart of children with her stories. These tales were a lot of fun.
