Sons of the Sphinx by Cheryl Carpinello

An enthralling, action-packed adventure through time awaits you in Sons of the Sphinx by Cheryl Carpinello.

Is seeing dead people a gift or a curse? Fifteen-year-old Rosa is certain it’s the latter. When the ghost of King Tut asks for her help in finding his lost queen, Hesena, Rosa finds herself traveling through different time periods in ancient Egypt pursued by Horemheb who, with the help of evil magic, is determined to stop her.

Wow! What a wild ride. From beginning to end, this is a story of love, adventure, and danger. Carpinello does a fine job in creating Rosa, whose gift interferes with normal life. Her connection to Tut and Hesena may go deeper than even she realizes. The author created a thrilling story where the danger kept building into a final showdown that leaves the reader breathless. Her attention to detail and historical knowledge draw the reader in just as much as the plot.

Sons of the Sphinx is a fabulous tale that lovers of ancient history, time travel stories, and the paranormal will enjoy.

The Thankful Unicorn: Dream by Hayley Rose

The Thankful Unicorn: Dream by Hayley Rose is an adorable coloring book/gratitude journal for young people. Illustrated by Lynx Studios, this colorful, sparkly cover opens to a black and white interior featuring daily pages to be filled in focusing on what the writer is thankful for, their dreams and goals, what they love about themselves, and their daily affirmations. Inspiring quotes are found at the bottom of those pages. Each opposite page has a stunning drawing waiting to be colored.

Part of Rose’s Thankful series, this book inspires creativity and positive thinking. This is the second journal of this nature that I have reviewed. Already a fan of Rose’s books, I’m thrilled to see how she continues to engage young readers in such a meaningful and fun way.

On the 4RV Blog

Last Wednesday was my date to post at the 4RV Blog. My article talked about virtual book tours–something I am really good at since I did it for over seven years. You’ll find 5 Tips for Coordinating a Virtual Book Tour here.

Today the blog features an interview with author Karen Cioffi. An award-winning author and children’s ghostwriter, she has published several books with 4RV Publishing, including the award-winning tween book Walking through Walls. You can read the interview with Karen here.

Blogging at 4RV Blog about Effective Book Promotion

As many of you know, before I became a REALTOR, I worked in online book promotion. Thanks to this experience and the effort put into marketing my own work, our local library asked me to hold a workshop for self-published authors on ways to promote their books. This week’s article at the 4RV Reading, Writing, & Art News blog talks about how effective marketing is about building relationships. You can read my article at https://4rvreading-writingnewsletter.blogspot.com/2019/09/effective-book-promotion-is-about.html
