I’m having fun with STORYSTORM. Remember that you can register through January 7 if you wish to join us. We are in the fourth day of this event where writers endeavor to create 30 story ideas in 30 days. Daily posts at founder Tara Lazar’s blog provide tons of inspiration and they are giving away prizes at the end.
Idea #4: Two of my last four books (Little Shepherd and Amos Faces His Bully (under contract)) place fictional characters in Biblical settings. I would like to write a story about a young Samaritan girl witnessing Jesus as he speaks with the woman at the well. Not sure on the details yet, but perhaps this conversation changes the girl’s perception of herself. Samaritans being looked down on by the Jews, maybe this brings about a change in the way this girl behaves toward a Jewish girl and that changes how the Jewish girl acts toward her.
