A counting book with a cute surprise at the end awaits your preschooler in Counting Birds by Jing Jing Tsong. Beautiful artwork and sing-song repetitive text fill the pages of this board book. Each of the ten birds has its own song that grows as the number of birds increases.
This is a lovely book. The adorable artwork complements the text well. I stumbled a bit over some of the hyphenated bird songs as I read them aloud, but other than that it worked perfectly. The recurring drawing of the tree helps tie everything together.ย The sturdy board construction with rounded corners makes the book safe and durable for toddlers.
I look forward to more from this author/artist.
