Thankyouplease by Pierre Winters

Looking for an entertaining and special way to teach your child about manners? Look no further than Thankyouplease by Pierre Winters. In this beautifully illustrated hardcover, grumpy six-year-old Nina talks back and never says please or thank you. Even though Mommy tries to teach her good manners, Nina continues to act rude. When Nina goes out to play and winds up in the circus of Ringmaster Thankyouplease, she soon discovers how easy using good manners can be.

I loved this book! It’s imaginative and tackles an issue that many parents struggle with. As Nina travels through the circus, she learns that good manners will get her much farther than being rude and impatient. The ending is so sweet, with Mommy noticing the wonderful change in her daughter and Nina apologizing to her dog, Hugo, who she has treated so badly.

The artwork of Barbara Ortelli adds so much to this lovely story. From Hugo covered in leaves to the elephant balancing on a ball, and from the large legs of Ringmaster Thankyouplease to the slender, pointy nose of the clown on his funny bicycle, all the pictures come together to bring this story to life for the reader. Your reader ages 4 to 8 will want to read this one as often as you will want to have its message relayed.
