PiBoIdMo 2010 – Idea #29

Only one more day to go after this and I already have my idea ready, so guess what? I’m going to make it! I’m so thankful to my friend, Jo Linsdell, for sharing about this event at her Writers and Authors page on Facebook. I was really bummed about not doing NaNoWriMo this year, but I knew I couldn’t tackle it with book promotion going on. This was the perfect way for me to stay in a positive frame of mind and get an idea of what I need to work on for 2011.

Idea #29

Be My Valentine

I guess I’m on a nonfiction kick right now. This book would share the history of Valentine’s Day with young readers, offer a few suggestions for simple gift ideas that don’t involve candy, and include a couple of easy craft ideas for kids.

  1. If you are wanting this one to be published in January for the Valentine’s gift giving time, you need to have this written and edited in the next few weeks to even think of publication in 2012 or 2013. Since you already have a publisher, are you contracted that she gets first dibs on your next book? If so, she may like this idea as well and want you to work on it immediately to shoot for publication in 2012 – I think you have done an awesome job of getting an idea out a day for a picture book – good luck with all of them and hopefully you will end up with many more books published. See you in the postings – E 🙂

    • Thanks Elysabeth. I don’t have to give my publisher first dibs, and she is closed to submissions until April anyway, but I would probably ask her about it first.

Thanks for all your support during this little endeavor. At least I know I won’t be bored.

  2. I haven’t done Nano in a couple of years, but I can’t see how you’d be upset about not doing it with everything you’ve been doing! You’ve far surpassed anything like Nano! I’m so amazed at all you’ve done. You’re an inspiration my friend!
