We’re down to the wire now. Only 7 more ideas and then the sun will set on this year’s PiBoIdMo. In some ways I’m amazed I’ve made it this far; but it’s a great way to make one think about the possibilities.
The Not So Scary Ghost
The Lil Princess and I were talking about potential story ideas today while in the waiting room at the dentist’s office. We thought it would be neat if there was a young, friendly ghost who didn’t want to frighten kids on Halloween night. His parents keep trying to convince him that this is what ghosts do on Halloween, but he isn’t going to have any of that.
I’m not sure yet how this one ends. In Little Oink by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, the young pig faces a similar challenge. He doesn’t like “Mess up time”. He would rather be tidy. He and his parents work out a type of compromise; which is what I see occurring in this story. I’m just not sure what that compromise is yet.
