PiBoIdMo 2010 – Idea #10

Moving right along, I wrote down more potential ideas while I was waiting to meet with the Lil Princess’ teacher today. I’m up to 17, with hopefully more on the way. Here’s the latest:

Idea #10

Jeremiah and the Five Loaves and Two Fish

I’m suffering from horrible title issues again today, but this tells me what the book is about. If I submitted this one, the publisher could help me figure out a good title for it.

A popular portion of scripture is that of Mark 6:32 – 44, which is where Jesus is preaching to the multitudes. The disciples suggest sending them away because they have come from near and far, but have nothing to eat. Jesus sends His disciples on a mission to scrounge up some food. They end up with five loaves of bread and two fish. The Lord blesses them and it feeds the 5,000 people with twelve baskets left over.

Can you imagine what a child would think of this? Here is a young person who has traveled with his parents to hear Jesus speak and he is witness to a miracle; as if hearing Jesus would not be wonderful enough. What do you think would be going through Jeremiah’s mind as they load up baskets full of leftovers?
